There is no mention of the type of surgery you had, or where the pain is. Certainly anatomical leg length inequalities need to be compensated for, or the resulting compensatory motions in the lumbar spine will start to degenerate and create even more problems. Torsion in the pelvis can create a functionally short leg and create the same problems, but is easily corrected without surgical intervention. Pelvic torsioning can also lead to knee problems as the affected leg can externally rotate, and put excess pressure on the medial aspect of the knee, and because the foot is not tracking right, even cause the navicular bone in the foot to drop causing problems there.
