Disc Herniation Recovery Periods
According to "Current Diagnosis and Treatment in Orthopedics", 4th ed., pp. 246–249. New York: McGraw-Hill about half the people with a herniated disc in their lower back recover within 1 month. 96% recover within 6 months. Only 10% of people with herniated disc problems (that cause noticeable symptoms) eventually have surgery.
How is your recovery going?

Tennis Player has herniated discs.
The Town Talk of Central Louisiana has an article on 49 year old Pat Serret, who won the 45 year olds Mens USPTA Tennis singles title in August this year.
He had taken three months off tennis last year because of three herniated discs. There's hope for everyone - what a great story.
