The Factors Affecting Low Back Pain in Adolescents
The Journal of Spinal Disorders & Techniques just reported a study looking at low back pain (LBP) in adolescents.
They looked at 688 kids aged around 16 from 5 different high schools. The kids completed a questionnaire about daily activity, backpack carrying, psychological and psychosocial behavior.
The results showed LBP is less common among adolescents who are frequently engaged in activity, and adolescent girls with stress, depressive mood, and low energy have more LBP than boys.
So the moral of the story is:
- be active
- reduce your stress
to help reduce lower back pain.
What do you think?
