Is Your Mattress Providing Your Spine Enough Support?
A good mattress is one which provides proper support to your back. It also continues to give the right amount of support throughout its life.
Why is that important?
Poor posture is something that quickly leads to lower back pain in all age groups. Poor posture when sleeping is even worse, because we spend a third of our lives in bed.
Following the middle path is the best option here. A mattress that's too soft or too hard messes up your spine's natural alignment. Ideally a mattress should be medium firm and have extra support systems, just enough to maintain the natural alignment of the spine while you sleep. There are mattresses in the market that use technology spin-offs from NASA's research, and while they are very good, they may set you back by quite a bit.
One thing however has to be kept in mind. The right mattress will provide you relief only if your lower back pain is caused by poor posture or inadequate support when sleeping. Otherwise your investment in a new mattress will not give you the desired results.
