Smoking Worsens Back Pain
If there wasn't enough reason to stop smoking, here is another: smoking makes your low back pain worse!
A number of studies suggest that moderate smoking too can significantly increase the chances of low back pain. What's more, young people and women are in the high risk group.
It has been suggested that widespread tissue damage, reduced circulation and nutrient delivery, and lowering the threshold of pain are some of the reasons behind greater prevalence of low back pain and slower recovery from back conditions among smokers.
No one in their right mind has ever claimed that smoking has any good effects on the human body. The correlation between smoking and low back pain found by the scientific research is far too strong to ignore. Quitting smoking for the sake of your lower back will also reduce the chances of a vast array of diseases like high blood pressure, heart disease, even cancer.
