Lower Back Pain Exercises
The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons offers a series of exercises, with accompanying diagrams. They start with 6 initial exercises, then have 6 intermediate exercises, some including a large ball, and finish with 3 advanced exercises.
The suggestion is that a orthopedic surgeon or physical therapist may recommend exercises for 10 to 30 minutes, 1 to 3 times a day.
The initial exercises include heel slides, wall squats and heel raises.
Intermediate exercises include single knee to chest stretch, hamstring stretch and lumbar stabilization with a ball.
