    After being in pain for so long now i have joined this back pain forum, It amazes me that a prolapsed disc sufferers have to wait so long to eventually get to an MRI scan, It can take up to 8months and sometimes more from seeing a doctor, Being referred to a consultant then a wait of a minimum of 5 weeks for a scan then another 4 weeks to get results from your consultant, That if you are a NHS patient. I think its ridiculous They don't know like we do how much pain we are really feeling. And ...

  5. Is back pain really all in the mind?

    Having suffered from acute sciatica I received emergency back surgery only to find that my lower back pain went through the roof when I came out of anaesthetic. I ended up on morphine just to cope with the terrible spasms.

    A few people commented rather unhelpfully that it was all in my mind. I have done so much research to find a lasting cure. Being told it is in the mind when the physical pain is so real is so patrionising and unhelpful. We need to be considerate and open to all ...
